With temperature rising high this summer, children and adults are equally looking for something to cool them down, but still, something healthy which is not at all soda or high sugar drink. Rose Lassi is a perfect drink which is easy to make and has high protein content and probiotics which your body needs. The recipe which is offered here is from my family. We make mango lassi, sweet and salty lassi, rose lassi and many other forms during the summer days. You can add whole cream on top before serving. In India, there are shops which serve different types of lassis throughout the year.

Yogurt as per Ayurveda, helps to reduce the vitiated pitta, but increases Kapha dosha. Ayurvedic texts suggest eating sweet, fresh yogurt vs. sour yogurt which has been made over a long time. During Diarrhea, you can take plain yogurt with rice. It helps to stop bowel movements. So, the people with IBS or Crohn’s disease can consume yogurt or buttermilk to control their symptoms. Yogurt is also a good addition to the face packs as it makes skin glow and smooth.

Rose, as per Ayurveda, is a very cooling and spiritually connecting plant which helps in vitiated pitta and make a person calm due to its divine aroma. In Ayurveda and culinary kitchens around the world, rose has always been used in various recipes such as rice, gulkand (Rose Jam with Ayurvedic herbs), rose water, rose cakes, milk shrikhand, rose syrups, and rose ice-creams, etc.
