Doula Self Care explores various practices that support the stability and wellness of the Doula as they navigate the sometimes strenuous act of caring for others. The basis of Doula Self Care is to provide our students with accessible and simple tools to nourish themselves and maintain balance between the mind and body.
Yogic customs including postures, mudras, and meditations will be taught to prevent fatigue and imbalances that hard working Doulas may experience while maintaining their practice. Alongside Yoga, Ayurvedic herbs and obtainable kitchen spices will be discussed so that the Doula may incorporate them into their personal wellness routines. Furthermore, other topics for personal use include; Essential oils, Flower essences, Gems & minerals, etc. The Doula will learn how to keep their immunity strong by integrating convenient Ayurvedic formulas into everyday living.
In addition to the above mentioned topics, business planning and contract creation is also a subject of importance in Doula Self Care. Our students will have a well rounded understanding of how to move through the professional and business realms, while also maintaining an even state of wellness. Within the subject of business, the Doula will gain an understanding of their worth and how to create pricing options for their new found career. At the completion of this course students will be equipped with tangible self care practices that will support their personal well being, and aid in preventing Doula burn out. Students will leave with the wisdom of how to support their own needs, so they may show up with fullness for their future clients.
