Ayurvedic Psychology – Manas Shasatra

Manas Shastra is the vast and insightful study of Ayurvedic psychology. This course looks at the relationship between the body and soul (Sharira and Chetna), and how Ayurveda can aid in the union of these systems. More specifically, Manas Shastra explores mental imbalances while comparing western and Ayurvedic theories surrounding specific diagnoses. Additionally, how the five core elements and the three Gunas; Sattva, Rajas and Tamas flow and form the mind is thoroughly lectured. Furthermore, how to treat and soothe mental variations with the use of Ayurveda, Mantra, and Tantra is learned by the practitioner student. Specific diseases discussed in Manas Shastra include Depression, Anxiety, Hallucination, Epilepsy, and more. In conclusion, this course includes the sentiments of psychological evolution per Ayurveda and modern western psychology.
