Lakshmi Nair founded Satya Yoga Immersion for People of Color, the first 200 hour certified yoga teacher training for People of Color in Denver in 2014. Lakshmi studied yoga at Vivekananda Yoga Kendra and Kaivalyadhama Ashram in India. She also attended 4 years of graduate study in South Asian Studies at UC Berkeley, where she studied Sanskrit, Tamil, and contemporary South Asian literature. She has been teaching yoga in Denver since 2005. In addition to Satya Yoga, she teaches for Littleton Yoga Center’s 200 hour yoga teacher training. She has taught gentle and prenatal yoga at Littleton Yoga Center for the past 6 years. She teaches a class called Chakra Yoga for Metropolitan State University’s Healthy Pursuits program, and has guest lectured in several academic classes at Auraria.
